Vorlage:Kurzinfo Der Typ III (If-Satz der Vergangenheit, irrealis der Vergangenheit) berichtet über etwas bisher Geschehenes und ist leichter zu identifizieren. Allerdings bestehen seine Bestandteile aus vielen Hilfsverben, die anfangs eher Angst machen.

Beispiele:

If I had known that, I would have stayed at home.

I wouldn't have got(ten) wet if it hadn't rained.
