Read chapters 2-13.
Then do the following task: In Gilead, people are categorised and divided into functions in society (especially women). Copy the following table to a Word document. While reading (or after reading), fill in the table and record details of these functions. Leave room to add to your table as you read through the rest of the novel. The first column has been done for you.
